One specific embodiment of the method comprises the steps of obtaining a transaction conversion value of a targetarticle, wherein the transaction conversion value is used for representing a difference value between a value obtained by transaction of the article and a value consumed by transaction of the article; determining a transaction driving value of the target article, wherein the transaction driving value is used for representing a transaction conversion value generated by transactions of other articles driven by transactions of the article; determining a missing value of the target article according to the sum of the transaction conversion value and the transaction driving value of the target article, with the missing value being used for representing the transaction conversion value lost due to insufficient inventory of the article, and the missing value of the target article being positively correlated with the sum; and adjusting the inventory of the target article according to the missing value of the target article. According to the embodiment, good article inventory management is realized.
