Problems solved by technology

For example, machinery in a factory can cause interference, while the heavy metal structures and objects that are prevalent in many factories can cause obstruction or at least severe fading
As a result of these effects, signal detection rates may be insufficient for URLLC unless steps are taken to overcome or mitigate at least some of the above-mentioned problems

Abstract

According to an aspect, there is provided an access node for configuring relaying using one or more terminal devices. The access node is configured to select the one or more terminal devices connected to the access node for relaying a signal from the source terminal device to the access node based on radio link measurements. Further, the access node is configured to configure each of the one or more terminal devices to decode each received primary uplink resource and if the decoding is successful, to cause transmitting a transport block corresponding to the decoded primary uplink resource on a secondary uplink resource using a pre-defined starting position to a target network node. The access node is also configured to receive at least one transport block transmitted from the source terminal device via one or more terminal devices on one or more secondary uplink resources.

Description

technical field [0001] Various example embodiments relate to wireless communications. Background technique [0002] Factory floors present a challenging radio propagation environment for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) often required in industrial automation scenarios. For example, machinery in a factory can cause interference, while the heavy metal structures and objects that are prevalent in many factories can cause blockage or at least severe fading. As a result of these effects, signal detection rates may be insufficient for URLLC unless steps are taken to overcome or mitigate at least some of the above-mentioned problems. Contents of the invention [0003] According to an aspect, the subject-matter of the independent claims is provided. Embodiments are defined in the dependent claims. [0004] One or more examples of implementations are set forth in more detail in the accompanying drawings and the description below. Other features will be apparen...
