Abstract

The present invention makes the displaying surface of flat type cathode ray tube to be about 1:1 in aspect ratio to thereby improve a displaying area of a supervisory monitor apparatus, which is formed of a funnel portion which is melt-bonded to the neck portion of a Braun tube and a luminous displaying portion whose upper portion is comprised of a fluorescent surface and a displaying surface, and which has horizontal and vertical deflecting coils provided in the neck portion. Since a rear end portion of the horizontal coil is made shorter toward the funnel portion by a length L than a rear end portion of a conventional deflecting coil, an electron beam scanning in the horizontal direction is prevented from colliding against the inner wall of the funnel portion, thereby making it possible that a drop-out of a picture does not occur even when a fluorescent film is made to be a picture surface having an aspect ratio of 1:1.
