Abstract

The invention relates to a stud welding process and a stud welding device (1) for welding a stud (6) to a workpiece (2), wherein an arc (LB) is generated between the surface (7) of the stud (6) that faces the workpiece (2) and the workpiece (2) by using a pulsed welding current (IS), and the arc (LB) is deflected by means of a magnetic field which is generated by a coil (3) through which a current (IA) flows.
