Embodiment Construction

[0041] Certain embodiments of the present invention will now be discussed with reference to the foregoing figures. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a wireless sensor suitable for attachment to the skin of a subject. Sensors can form a network with similar sensors, and data collected from these sensors can be synchronized or aligned in the time domain. Network types can utilize routing topologies including: star, mesh, pseudo-mesh, or any other routing topology. Each sensor can include: a sensing component configured to detect a signal corresponding to at least one physiological condition of the subject; and a communication component configured to wirelessly communicate the detected signal to another wireless sensor or an external monitoring device . The external monitoring device may be local to the patient, such as a cell phone, tablet, or other type of computing device, or may be a remote device, such as an Internet server, and may serve as the master node...

Abstract

A system for wirelessly obtaining physiological data from a subject includes a sensor patch and a separate electronics package. The sensor patch is disposed on and adheres to an object and includes a first portion of a releasable electrical connector. The electronics package includes a second portion of the first releasable electrical connector for physically and electrically connecting the electronics package to the sensor patch. An electronic device package includes a flexible substrate on which a housing is disposed. The housing encloses the electronics. The shell is connected through a flexible circuit board. An analog front-end circuit is placed in one housing and a wireless transceiver is placed in the other housing.
