AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In the fifth-generation core network, the existing technology requires the Serving Communication Agent Node (SCP) to store a large amount of UE/session context data, resulting in a storage burden and inefficiency in the NF node selection and reselection process.

Method used

The identifiers and location information of NF nodes are selected and stored by the First Service Communication Agent (SCP) node, and managed using a mapping table, which reduces the repeated discovery process and optimizes NF node selection and response transmission.

🎯Benefits of technology

It improves the efficiency of NF node selection and reselection, reduces the storage burden of SCP, and optimizes network communication processes.

Abstract

A method for handling a service request is provided. The method is performed by a first service communication proxy (SCP) node. In response to receiving a first request from a first network function (NF) node for a second NF node to provide a first service, the first SCP node selects (102) the second NF node to provide the first service and stores (104) an identifier of the second NF node. The first SCP node also initiates transmission (106) of the first request toward the second NF node. In response to receiving a first response from the second NF node, the first SCP node stores (108) location information of the second NF node. The location information of the second NF node is stored in association with the identifier of the second NF node. The first SCP node also initiates transmission (110) of the first response toward the first NF node.
