By disposing multiple main chips on a single PCI adapter card through a daisy-key structure, the performance of the PCI adapter card is enhanced without requiring additional PCI slots or redesigning the chip. The invention provides a PCI adapter card including multiple main chips, the main chips are connected together to form a daisy key structure, and each main chip supports at least one ATA host controller. The PCI adapter card also includes an arbiter, which is used to control and determine the access right between the main chip and the PCI local bus.
