Embodiment 1

[0064] In this example, the configuration of the camouflage tire of the present invention is illustrated. Camouflage tires were produced using variegated cover strips made of five colored rubber compounds. Each colored size was manufactured according to the size formulation in Table 1, and the total is given in parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of elastomer (phr). Add colorants, use the colorants shown in Table 2 to produce light green, green, light brown, brown and black colored gums.

Embodiment 2

[0077] Camouflage tires are produced using variegated cover strips made from three separate colored compounds. Tires were produced following the procedure of Example 1, with some changes in the colors used. FIG. 5 shows the mottled cover strip 112 produced by the calender, and FIG. 7 shows the tire 102 with the mottled cover strip 112 applied. As shown in Figures 5 and 7, the mottled cover strip 112 includes multi-colored stripes 106 to impart a camouflage effect to the tire.

Embodiment 3

[0079] Camouflage tires are produced using variegated cover strips made from four separate colored compounds. Tires were produced following the procedure of Example 1, with some changes in the colors used. FIG. 6 shows the variegated cover strip 212 produced by the calender, and FIG. 8 shows the tire 202 with the variegated cover strip 212 applied. As shown in Figures 6 and 8, the mottled cover strip 212 includes multi-colored stripes 206 to impart a camouflage effect to the tire.

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a pneumatic tire including an elastomeric veneer disposed on at least one exterior surface of the tire, the elastomeric veneer including at least two partially co-blended colored rubber compositions wherein the at least two colored rubber compositions are of different colors, the elastomeric veneer displaying at least two irregularly variegated colors including a plurality of elongated multicolored striae, the at least two variegated colors having a camouflage effect that reduces or eliminates a viewer's visual perception of the tire relative to an environmental background.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to multicolored tires, and more particularly to camouflaged tires. Background technique [0002] Camouflage is a method of concealing or hiding a person or object from its surroundings. The goal is to blend into the environment and avoid detection. In nature, color fusion is used for defense and detection purposes, such as white rabbits in snowy areas. In addition, predators such as white polar bears use camouflage to gain a surprise advantage when trying to catch prey. [0003] Some reptiles, such as chameleons, can even change color to blend in with their environment to further enhance their camouflage in an attempt to catch fast-moving insects. [0004] Humans have adapted the natural tricks of camouflage for recreational hunting and military purposes. [0005] Over the years camouflage techniques using camouflage objects have evolved from the simple use of rope nets to techniques for painting vehicles and...
