Traction system applied to a feeder

Abstract

This patent relates to a drive system (S) applied to a feeder (C) equipped with a feed metering mechanism (C1) for supplying feed to a feeding channel (1). This channel houses a conveyor chain (2), which is driven cyclically along the channel (1), extending between a front end (3) and a rear end (4) of the feeder (C). The conveyor chain (2) is driven by a sprocket (20) powered by an electric motor (not shown) and enclosed within a protective housing (E). Additionally, the drive system (S) comprises a compensating assembly (D) incorporating a movable element (5) operatively connected to an elastic element (6). This elastic element facilitates the longitudinal displacement of the movable element (5) between the positions monitored by a first sensor (7) and a second sensor (8).These sensors (7 and 8) are configured to transmit control signals that allow the immediate cessation of the operation of the toothed wheel (20), thus stopping the traction of the conveyor chain (2).
