Full passage through a lift gas injection packer assembly

Abstract

A gas lift packer assembly, a gas lift injection system including the assembly, and methods using the assembly and system are disclosed. The gas lift packer assembly includes an upper nipple, a packer attached to the upper nipple, a lower nipple attached to the packer, a sleeve disposed within the upper nipple, the packer, and the lower nipple. The inside diameters of the components of the gas lift packer assembly form a continuous passage from end to end of the gas lift packer assembly so that a downhole tool can be moved through the gas lift packer assembly while the gas lift packer assembly is sealed in a well.A gas inlet port of the upper nipple can be formed in such a way that an inner wall of the gas inlet port is the housing for a check valve.
