Station transition cancellation

Abstract

A station (STA) transmits a first frame to a first access point (AP) indicating a transition from the STA to a second AP. The STA receives a second frame from the first AP indicating acceptance of the transition. Before receiving a third frame that dismantles the link between the STA and the first AP, the STA transmits a fourth frame to the first AP canceling the transition. The STA then receives a fifth frame from the AP indicating a duration during which the link between the STA and the first AP remains established after the STA receives the second frame from the first AP confirming acceptance of the transition. The STA transmits the fourth frame within this duration.
