Abstract

A process for a vehicle body structure obtained by rotational molding, which incorporates recycled material from previous body structures in order to improve its mechanical properties without increasing the overall mass. The invention comprises the formation of a multilayer structure that includes at least one compact outer layer, preferably made of virgin material, and one or more inner layers formed partially or entirely from micronized recycled material. These inner layers can be foamed or compacted and are obtained by different methods, including integral foaming, hot gas injection for the formation of additional compact layers, the use of different particle sizes, and / or the incorporation of nanometric additives. The methods described allow for an increase in the second moment of area and an improvement in the structural strength of the vehicle body, particularly in areas subjected to high mechanical loads, such as structural pillars, seatbelt anchor points, and impact zones. The invention also enables the efficient production of structures through circular economy processes, reusing recycled materials and reducing waste, while maintaining or improving the mechanical properties required for automotive applications.
