A manual tourniquet with two-phase control, a personal rescue set and a method of its use

Abstract

A manual tourniquet with a two-phase constriction mechanism, intended primarily for rapid arrest of bleeding in the limbs of persons, is formed by at least one constriction strap (1) and at least one constriction lock (2). The individual parts of the constriction lock (2) form a single compact, non-disassembled unit. The constriction lock (2) is formed by a body (3) having a pair of side panels (4) in the lower part of the body (3) connected by a base (5) into a compact unit. The base (5) is arranged in the rear part of the body (3) into a brake projection (6). The side panels (4) are further connected in the front upper part by an upper securing crossbar (7) and in the rear lower part also by a reinforcing crossbar (8). The constriction lock (2) is further formed by a brake (9) rotatably arranged in the rear part of the body (3) on a brake pin (10), which is firmly anchored in the brake holes (21) of the side panels (4). The brake (9) is arranged in the space between the reinforcing bar (8) and the brake projection (6).
