A magnetic separation system with the detection of clogging of magnetic separation component and a method of such detection

Abstract

The invention relates to a magnetic separation system with detection of clogging of a magnetic separation component, which consists of at least one magnetic separation component (1) in the form of one or more magnetic rods forming a magnetic separation grid, which is conductively connected to a voltage source (3); at least one sensor (2) made of an electrically conductive non-magnetic material located at a predetermined distance from at least one magnetic separation component (1), and where said at least one sensor (2) is conductively connected to the voltage source (3) via an indicator element (4); a voltage source (3) conductively connected to at least one magnetic separation component (1) and at least one sensor (2) via an indicator element (4), thus forming an electrical indication circuit; an indicator element (4) conductively connected to the voltage source (3) and at least one sensor (2); electrical insulation (5) of at least one magnetic separation component (1); and electrical insulation (6) of at least one sensor (2).The invention also relates to a method of detecting fouling of a magnetic separation component (1) using said magnetic separation system.
