A regression gearbox

Abstract

The regression gearbox is mainly composed of the structural elements of a planetary gearbox. Its main parts are a fixed housing (1) and two gears, hereinafter referred to as the first gear and the second gear. These are composed of a sun gear (A) of the first gear, which is firmly connected to the gearbox housing (1), an input shaft (2) firmly connected to the satellite carrier, a satellite shaft (3) firmly connected to the satellite gear (B) of the first gear and to the satellite gear (C) of the second gear, and an output shaft (4) firmly connected to the sun gear (D) of the second gear. Geometrically, the sun gears, input shaft, output shaft and satellite carrier have a common axis, and the satellite shafts with the satellite gears are rotatably mounted on the satellite carrier. This gearbox achieves very high transmission ratios, theoretically even infinite, using only two gears, without the need for additional gear stages.The resulting gear ratio corresponds to the under- or over-rotation of the mutual movement of the second gear (C)-(D) relative to one revolution of the satellite carrier.
