Abstract

A luminaire (1) with increased thermal and mechanical resistance comprising at least one light source (2), a light source carrier (3), a heat sink (4) for dissipating heat from the light source (2) and an outer casing (5), wherein the outer casing (5) defines a cavity (6) of the luminaire and the carrier (3) is placed in the cavity (6), wherein the light source (2) is placed on the carrier (3), wherein the outer casing (5) comprises a first shell (7) of the casing, a second shell (8) of the casing and further a transparent part (9) of the casing for emitting light from the luminaire (1), wherein the carrier (3) is in contact with the first shell (7) of the casing and the heat sink (4) comprises a front side (10) of the heat sink and a rear side (11) of the heat sink, wherein the heat sink (4) is in contact with the carrier (3) from the front side (10) and in contact with the second shell (8) of the casing from the rear side (11), wherein the carrier (3), the heat sink (4) and the outer casing (5) are made of a material with a thermal conductivity of at least 10 W×m-1×K-1.
