Abstract

A device for preparing beverages using a capsule (4) comprises a body (5) of the device and a holder (1) for placing a capsule (4) which is movably connected to the body (5) of the device. The body (5) of the device comprises an injection element (52) and the holder (1) comprises a discharge element (36), wherein a straight line drawn in the direction of injection of liquid into the capsule (4) and a straight line drawn in the direction of discharge of liquid from the capsule (4) are divergent. The holder (1) comprises a first part (2) comprising a space (21) for accommodating the capsule (4) and a second part (3) comprising a discharge element (36). The first part (2) and the second part (3) are mutually movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the discharge element (36) does not interfere with the space (21) for accommodating the capsule (4) and in the second position, the discharge element (36) interferes with the space (21) for accommodating the capsule (4).
