Control element (100) for a display device (200) in a motor vehicle (K), for operating input options (M1-M4; M31-M35; M41-M48), with at least one touch-sensitive input surface (F), wherein the touch-sensitive input surface (F) of the control element (100) is at least partially (E, EL, 110) haptically modeled on the graphic content (A) of the display device (200), characterized in that the touch-sensitive input surface (F) has at least one delimited area (110) which is realized by a local elevation of the touch-sensitive input surface (F) and upon touching which operation in the manner of a joystick is possible.
