Abstract

Battery assembly (10) comprising: a battery cell (12) with a bag (20) and a cell flap (16), wherein the cell flap (16) has a first section (16A) extending outwards from a circumferential edge (18) of the bag (20) and a second section (16B) arranged orthogonally with respect to the first section (16); a conductive busbar (22) defining a flap slot (25) through which the first section (16A) extends, wherein the conductive busbar (22) has a principal surface arranged immediately adjacent to the second section (16B) of the cell flap (16);and a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) (24) with a longitudinal axis (11) defining an elongated weld window (26) arranged orthogonally to the longitudinal axis (11), wherein the PCBA (24) is positioned adjacent to the conductive busbar (22) such that the surface area of ​​the second section (16B) of the cell tab (16) is exposed through the elongated weld window (26), wherein the second section (16B) of the cell tab (16) is welded to the conductive busbar (22) within the elongated weld window (26).
