Abstract

Externally excited electric machine comprising a rotor (2) and a contact device (5) comprising at least one sliding contact element (7) bearing against a contact section (4) of the rotor (2) for transmitting an excitation current, wherein the sliding contact element (7) is integrated in an electromagnetic actuator (6) by which it can be moved in a controlled manner between a position bearing against the contact section (4) and a position opposed by it, characterized in that the sliding contact element (7) is received in a holder (8) which is received in a guide (12) of the actuator (6) and is linearly movable in this guide by means of an electromagnetic actuating device (13), wherein the holder (8) is a sleeve (9) in which at least one spring element (10) is received which clamps the sliding contact element (7) against the rotor (3) and which is supported on one side on a sleeve base and on the other side on the sliding contact element (7).
