Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle (2) which has two axles (4, 6), namely a front axle (4) and a rear axle (6), and a braking system (8), wherein the braking system (8) has a regenerative brake (12) and a service brake (10), wherein the service brake (10) has four wheel brakes (16, 18), namely two front wheel brakes (16) and two rear wheel brakes (18), wherein the two front wheel brakes (16) are assigned to the front axle (4) and the two rear wheel brakes (18) to the rear axle (6), wherein in one operating mode of the motor vehicle (2), namely in a cleaning mode, a braking force is specified by means of the rear wheel brakes (18) and wherein in the cleaning mode it is dispensed with by means of the front wheel brakes (16) and by means of the regenerative brake (12).
