The invention relates to a method (100) for operating a vehicle (60), wherein the vehicle (60) comprises at least one control unit (18), at least one high-voltage system (10) comprising a separately switchable first subnetwork (12), a separately switchable second subnetwork (14) and at least one switchable high-voltage battery (30), at least one low-voltage battery (24) and at least one DC / DC converter (20) electrically connecting the at least one low-voltage battery (24) to the at least one high-voltage system (10), comprising at least the following steps: determining (102) subnetworks (12, 14) to be switched on by means of the control unit (18); determining (104) capacities (26, 28) of the subnetworks (12, 14) to be switched on by means of the control unit (18);Setting (106) the at least one DC-DC converter (20) for pre-charging the subnetworks (12, 14) to be connected based on the determined capacities (26, 28) using the control unit (18); and pre-charging (108) the subnetworks (12, 14) to be connected using the set at least one DC-DC converter (20) and the at least one low-voltage battery (24).
