Abstract
A device for monitoring the switching operation of a contactor is described, wherein the device is configured to determine, at a given measurement time, a first measured value of the potential on the first side of the contactor using a first measuring unit, and a second measured value of the potential on the opposite second side of the contactor using a second measuring unit. The device is further configured to determine, at least for one of the measuring units, a tolerance value for the measured value acquired by the respective measuring unit, wherein the tolerance value depends on the measurement time, and to determine a voltage threshold value for the measurement time based on the tolerance value.Furthermore, the device is set up to compare the potential difference determined on the basis of the first measured value and on the basis of the second measured value with the voltage threshold value in order to monitor the switching process of the contactor.
