Machining device for machining a gas or steam turbine rotor

Abstract

The invention relates to a machining device (1) designed for machining a circumferential groove (5) provided on a wheel face (2) of a rotor wheel disc (3) of a gas or steam turbine rotor (4), comprising a handheld housing (6), guide means (8) arranged on a lower side (7) of the housing (6) designed to engage with circumferential structures (9) present on a circumferential surface of a gas or steam turbine rotor (4) to be machined and to guide a circumferential movement of the machining device (1) mounted on the circumferential surface of the gas or steam turbine rotor (4), and a tool spindle (17) provided with a tool clamping device (16), in particular driven by compressed air, wherein the tool spindle (17) is arranged on the housing (6) such thatthat it is movable back and forth in the direction of its longitudinal axis of the tool spindle for the purpose of tool feed, and that a milling tool (18) clamped in the tool spindle (17) projects outwards from the housing (6) in a direction transverse to the circumferential direction. Furthermore, the invention relates to a machining process using such a machining device (1).
