Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a card-shaped data carrier (10), in particular a smart card, wherein the card-shaped data carrier (10) has at least one chip module (20) and at least one antenna (30) arranged in a card body (11) of the card-shaped data carrier (10), wherein the chip module (20) has at least one first contact area (24) for contacting the antenna (30) and the antenna (30) has at least one second contact area (31) for contacting the chip module (20), wherein the chip module (20) is configured as the first connection partner and the antenna (30) is configured as the second connection partner, wherein the method comprises the following steps: - Arranging at least one solder material (40) as a third connection partner between the first contact area (24) and the second contact area (31);- Forming a metallurgical bond between the first and second joining partners by means of the solder material (40) as a third joining partner, characterized in that, in the case of at least one of the joining partners, a temperature increase of the joining partner is carried out prior to the formation of the metallurgical bond.
