Abstract

A linkage assembly (10; 110) for a hitch system (80) comprises a first rod (24; 124) extending along a first longitudinal axis (L24) with a locking counter-formation (66; 158) and a second rod (22; 122) extending along a second longitudinal axis (L22), which are connected by a coupling arrangement (42; 142), wherein the second rod (22; 122) is displaceable along the first longitudinal axis (L24) between a lower position and an upper position, wherein the coupling arrangement (42; 142) has a first coupling formation (44; 144) and a second coupling formation (46; 146) with a locking formation (58; 166), wherein the second coupling formation (46; 146) is relative to the first rod (24; 124) can be brought into a third operating position different from a first and a second operating position, in which the locking formation (58; 166) with the locking counter-formation (66; 158) causes a movement of the second rod (22;122) relative to the first rod (24; 124) from the upper position to the lower position. One formation consisting of a locking formation (58; 166) and a locking counter-formation (66; 158) has a detent projection (58; 158) and the other formation has a detent recess (66), wherein in the third operating position the locking formation (58; 166) and the locking counter-formation (66; 158) are in a detent engagement that can be disengaged against a preload.
