Abstract
Control unit (8) for controlling a reactivation of a lean NO x -trap (LNT 6) arranged in an exhaust system (3) connected to an internal combustion engine (2), the control unit (8) comprising: at least one processor (9, 11) configured to generate a reactivation flag (RF) for the LNT (6); and a storage device (10) with instructions stored therein, which is coupled to the at least one processor (9, 11); wherein the at least one processor (9, 11) is configured to generate the reactivation flag (RF) when an integral of the LNT temperature (TLNT) over time during an interval when the exhaust gas supplied to the LNT (6) is lean and the LNT temperature (TLNT) is greater than or equal to a predetermined LNT temperature limit, is greater than or equal to a predetermined reactivation limit.
