Magnetic drilling aid with center point alignment

Abstract

Device for transferring a reference position arranged under a non-magnetic surface of a workpiece to the surface of the workpiece, comprising: • a magnetic field source positionable relative to the workpiece (Fig. 1), • a movably guided positioning element (Fig. 2).2) with a magnetically sensitive sensor body, and a marking or drilling guide element coupled to the positioning element, characterized in that the magnetic field source generates a spatially inhomogeneous magnetic field, the reference position is characterized by a locally varying magnetic permeability or magnetization, a location-dependent force acts on the positioning element through the interaction between the magnetic field and the reference position, the positioning element is thereby guided into a stable position defined by a magnetic potential minimum, and the marking or drilling guide element is positioned in this position to transfer the reference position to the surface.
