Abstract

Electric drive system for a vehicle with at least one driven wheel, comprising a wheel hub with a wheel axle, an electric motor and a wheel-near power transmission unit with a driven element coupled to the wheel hub and at least one intermediate element movably arranged relative to the wheel axle, characterized in that the electric motor is connected to the intermediate element in a torque-transmitting manner and the power transmission unit is designed such that, in the case of relative movements between the wheel and the vehicle body, the electric motor is predominantly assigned to the sprung mass, while a part of the power transmission unit is movable about the wheel axle.
