Abstract

Control of a room temperature control system for a water-based underfloor heating or surface heating system in a building with multiple rooms, characterized in that a) a data set of a normative or normatively equivalent room heating load is stored in a control box for each room, wherein this data set originates from one or more of the following sources: - a heating load calculation according to DIN EN 12831 or equivalent standard, - an energy performance certificate, thermal insulation certificate or KfW Efficiency House document, - a digital building model (BIM) or cadastral data, - a digital acquisition method, in particular an AI-supported application, which acquires room-specific parameters such as component areas, heat transfer coefficients, materials, insulation thicknesses, window sizes and cardinal directions and processes them into a normatively equivalent data set, - an adaptive method, which derives an equivalent data set from historical consumption data or an ongoing target / actual comparison over several operating periods; b) the control box calculates the required room heating load using the current outside temperature; c) the average heating water temperature (°C) and the heating water mass flow rate (kg / h) as well as the supply and return temperatures are determined from the normative or normatively equivalent room heating load using a stored transfer characteristic curve of the surface heating system, wherein the transfer characteristic curve originates from one or more of the following sources: - a normative calculation according to DIN EN 1264 or equivalent standard, - manufacturer-specific characteristic curves of the pipe system or screed, - metrological calibration of the heating circuit during commissioning, - an adaptive method derived from ongoing operating data (mass flow rate, temperatures,(heat emission) a room-specific transfer characteristic is automatically calibrated; d) these calculated heating water parameters - heating water mass flow rate and average heating water temperature - serve as reference variables for a control system and form a normative or normatively equivalent characteristic curve; e) the calculated setpoints are continuously compared and adjusted with the measured variables from the control system - in particular actual values of mass flow rate, supply and return temperature - so that a closed control loop with feedback is created; whereby the control is power-controlled and not based on a measured room air temperature as a reference variable.
