Battery system

Abstract

Battery system (1) for a rail vehicle, comprising: - a battery container (2) having a coolant supply port (3) and a coolant discharge port (4); - a battery string (5) arranged in the battery container (2), wherein the battery string (5) comprises at least one battery module (6); - a cooling circuit device (7) which fluidically connects the coolant supply port (3) and the coolant discharge port (4) and which has a coolant supply area (3a) in the region of the coolant supply port (3) and a coolant discharge area (4a) in the region of the coolant discharge port (4), so that coolant can flow from the coolant supply area (3a) through the cooling circuit device (7) along a coolant flow direction (R) to the coolant discharge area (4a); - wherein the cooling circuit device (7) is arranged in the battery system (1), in particular in the battery container (2),that coolant flowing through the cooling circuit device (7) is directed past the battery train (5), in particular past the at least one battery module (6), for the purpose of heat absorption from the battery train (5), in particular from the at least one battery module (6), characterized in that the battery system (1) further comprises an emergency circulation line (8) which is designed independently of the cooling circuit device (7) and which fluidically connects the coolant discharge area (4a) with the coolant supply area (3a), wherein a fluid pump (9) is arranged in the emergency circulation line (8) which is configured to pump coolant from the coolant discharge area (4a) to the coolant supply area (3a) in order to enable circulation of the coolant within the battery system (1).
