Abstract

A method (700) for managing limited temporary data storage in a portable device is provided. The method (700) comprises steps of: continually receiving (S710) measurement data from at least one sensor (12), the measurement data comprising a time stamp corresponding to a time of measurement; assigning (S720) a first priority to the measurement data proportional to and increasing with an age of the time stamp; assigning (S730) a second priority to the measurement data proportional to and decreasing with the age of the time stamp; storing (S750) the measurement data in a primary memory buffer; transmitting (S760) measurement data for long-term storage in order according to the second priority; after receiving confirmation that the measurement data have been successfully transmitted, deleting (S770) the transmitted data; and when storage capacity in the primary memory buffer reaches a predetermined storage limit, deleting (S780) non-transmitted data in order according to the first priority. A system (60) for managing limited temporary data storage in a portable personal server device (PS) (30) and a PS (30) for facilitating a secured and verified peer-to-peer bidirectional connection between one or more patient-specific medical devices (10) with at least one sensor (12) and a health care management system (20) are further provided.
