Abstract
A wind turbine blade (112) with a leading edge (116) with at least one leading edge protection element (120) attached to at least a part of the leading edge (116) by means of an adhesive system (310) is disclosed. The adhesive system (310) is mechanically heat activatable, so that mechanical properties of the adhesive system (310) are irreversibly changeable in response to applied heat (500), the irreversible change causing mechanical breaking or weakening of the bond between the leading edge (116) and the at least one leading edge protection element (120). This allows for easy removal of the leading edge protection element (120) without risking that the leading edge protection element (120) detaches from the wind turbine blade (112) during normal operation. A method for removing a leading edge protection element (120) and a method for manufacturing the wind turbine blade (112) are also disclosed.
