However, for the food supplement to provide the desired benefit to the patient / user, it must have satisfactory properties that do not cause problems in terms of taste and odor. This is especially important for children and the elderly. In the technical field, there is a need for new food supplements that will provide the required benefit and will not cause problems in terms of taste and odor.

The food supplement containing Sideritis plant extract and the production method of the mentioned food supplement are described. It is stated that the food supplement mentioned in the document increases cognitive performance. However, it does not contain the other 3 plant extracts in this herbal formulation and there is no description of the cough / cold disorder.

[0010] The present invention relates to a food supplement that meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages, and brings some additional advantages.

[0011] The invention is inspired by existing conditions and aims to solve the above-mentioned problems.

[0012] The main purpose of the invention is to develop a new food supplement for the treatment and cure of cold, sore throat, and cough.

[0013] Another purpose of the invention is to obtain a standardized food supplement which, unlike the state of the art, is produced with the same quality in each preparation. Another purpose of the invention is to obtain a new food supplement that can be used as a beverage in the prevention and treatment of colds with coughs and contributes to the treatment. Through the invention, the taste and odor problem encountered in the prior art is also eliminated.

[0018] The invention relates to an immune-boosting food supplement for use against coughs and colds. The inventive food supplement comprises a combination of Sideritis herba, Tiliae flos, Zingiberis rhizome, and Cinnamomi cortex plant extracts. The food supplement is preferably in liquid form, preferably in syrup form.

[0019] The plant extracts are prepared as standardized. Each plant used in the invention was extracted separately with at least 4 different solvent systems and prepared by determining the most suitable solvent system for each of them. The product prepared with hydroglyceric extraction is selected as the final product combination. During the production process, a standardized product is prepared based on the total amount of phenolics and flavonoids in Sideritis species, the total amount of flavonoids in Tilia species, the amount of gingerols in ginger, and the percentage of cinnamaldehyde in Cinnamomum bark essential oil. This is one of the distinguishing aspects of the technique in the presence of the state of the art.

[0029] In the production of the inventive food supplement, each extract is macerated at 30-400 for one day. The next day, it is filtered in the device connected to the extractor, and each extract is kept in the refrigerator until the preservative is added. The filtered extracts are mixed for 1 hour and the resulting mixture is pasteurized, pH: 4.3% (with citric acid) is set and then preservatives of 0.1% potassium sorbate and 0.1% sodium benzoate are added.

CLAIMS1. A food supplement for enhancing the immune system, for use against coughs and colds, characterized by comprising:• Sideritis congesta extract,• Tilia sp. extract,• Zingiber officinale extract,• Cinnamomum sp. extract,• Lemon peel extract.

2. The food supplement according to claim 1 , is characterized by comprising water and glycerine.

3. The food supplement according to claim 1 or claim 2, is characterized by comprising:• 1 part Sideritis congesta extract,• 1 part Tilia sp. extract,• 1 part Zingiber officinale extract,• 1 / 8 part Cinnamomum sp. extract,• 1 / 60 part lemon peel extract.

4. The food supplement according to any one of the preceding claims, is characterized in that the food supplement is in liquid form.

5. The food supplement according to claim 4, is characterized in that the food supplement is in syrup form.
