AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Watch dials are susceptible to damage from impacts due to the rigidity of existing fastening systems, which transmit all energy to the dial, leading to cracking.
Method used
A watch design that attaches the dial to the mainplate using dial feet with holes and fastening elements, incorporating axial and lateral damping elements made of flexible materials to absorb shock energy.
Benefits of technology
Reduces the risk of dial cracking by effectively damping frontal and lateral shocks, ensuring secure attachment without stress.

Abstract
A watch according to the invention comprises a movement including a mainplate (1). The watch dial (2) is attached to the mainplate. The dial includes dial feet (3) fixed to the rear face of the dial (2). The feet are inserted into holes (4) that pass through the mainplate from its front face (5) to its rear face (6). The holes (4) include a peripheral stop (7), preferably located recessed from the rear face (6) of the mainplate, so that the ends (11) of the feet are positioned away from said stop (7). Fastening elements (13), for example nuts, are mounted on the feet (3) on the side of said ends, with the addition of axial damping elements (14) arranged between the fastening elements (13) and the stops (7) of the holes (4).The damping elements (14) are produced of a flexible material and these elements are partially compressed between the fixing elements (13) and said stops (7), so as to dampen the effects of frontal shocks on the whole of the plate and the dial.
