Abstract
Description
Heat protector for vehicle dashboards OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention, as its title indicates, is a thermal protector for vehicle dashboards. This innovation offers advantages previously unknown within current techniques. The present invention is characterized by the special functional and constructive features of its constituent elements, which together contribute to the creation of a thermal protector for vehicle dashboards. This protector is designed to improve thermal management within the vehicle, providing a comprehensive solution against the high temperatures generated by solar exposure. This innovative device not only acts as a protective barrier that prevents dashboard deterioration but also optimizes thermal regulation within the passenger compartment. Its advanced design allows for efficient interaction with the vehicle's climate control systems, such as air conditioning and heating, by redirecting airflow through internal ducts integrated into its structure. This ensures uniform air distribution, helping to maintain a stable and comfortable temperature. TECHNICAL SECTOR Therefore, the present invention falls within the scope of vehicle accessories. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION With reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that, although various designs of protective devices are known, the existence of any other that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those presented by the invention claimed herein is unknown. EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION In the automotive world, one of the elements most exposed to environmental conditions is the dashboard, which not only serves as an interface between the driver and the vehicle controls, but is also directly exposed to solar radiation and thermal fluctuations. The invention relates to a thermal protector for vehicle dashboards designed to optimize thermal management within the vehicle's passenger compartment. This thermal protector not only acts as a protective barrier for the dashboard against high temperatures caused by solar exposure, but also contributes significantly to the thermal regulation of the vehicle's interior. The heat shield is designed to interact efficiently with the car's climate control systems, such as the air conditioning and heating. Its structure redirects the airflow generated by these systems, channeling it through internal ducts integrated into the shield itself. In this way, the device not only protects the dashboard surfaces from thermal wear but also helps maintain a more uniform and comfortable temperature inside the vehicle. Among the most outstanding benefits of this invention are: The protection of the dashboard, by reducing direct exposure to heat, prevents deterioration such as cracks or discoloration, thus prolonging the useful life of the dashboard. Energy efficiency, by improving the distribution of air conditioning or heating, reduces the effort of the climate control system, which can translate into lower fuel or electricity consumption in hybrid and electric vehicles. Thermal comfort, the thermoregulation of the cabin provides a more pleasant environment for the occupants, reducing extreme temperatures in summer and maintaining a warm climate in winter. Sustainability, by optimizing the use of the air conditioning system, contributes to a reduction in emissions of polluting gases in vehicles with internal combustion engines. Specifically, the invention proposes, as previously mentioned, a thermal protector for vehicle dashboards comprising a flexible body that adapts perfectly to the surface of the vehicle's dashboard. This main body incorporates an internal conduit that connects an opening located at the base to the dashboard's air vents. Thanks to this configuration, the air conditioning or heating can be distributed more efficiently, thus improving the climate control of the vehicle's interior. A standout feature of this design is its customizability. The flexible body is trimmable, allowing users to adjust the protector to the exact dimensions and specifications of their vehicle's dashboard. This flexibility is essential, given that dashboard designs vary considerably between different car makes and models. The heat shield is made from specialized materials that serve multiple functions. The top layer is composed of a UV-resistant laminate, designed to reflect sunlight and protect the dashboard from deterioration caused by prolonged sun exposure. This laminate not only prevents aesthetic and structural damage to the dashboard, but also helps maintain a more stable interior temperature, reducing heat buildup on sunny days. The underside of the protector includes fastening mechanisms that ensure a secure and stable installation. These mechanisms may be hook and loop fasteners, adhesives, or other systems depending on the product version. To maximize its performance, the heat shield can include an additional accessory configured as a duct. This accessory attaches to both one of the shield's air vents and the original dashboard air vents using a top and bottom mounting system. This additional design allows airflow to be redirected into the internal ducting of the protector, further optimizing the distribution of air conditioning or heating within the vehicle. This is especially useful in extreme climates, where maintaining a uniform and comfortable temperature is essential for both the comfort and safety of the occupants. The dashboard heat shield offers multiple advantages. First, it protects the dashboard from wear and tear caused by solar radiation, extending its lifespan and maintaining its original appearance. Second, it significantly improves thermal comfort by redistributing the airflow of air conditioning or heating, ensuring a more even temperature throughout the vehicle. Furthermore, its customizable design and versatile installation options make it a practical accessory adaptable to any type of vehicle. The high-quality materials used in its manufacture guarantee durability and resistance to the most demanding conditions. Unless otherwise stated, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the meanings commonly understood by a person skilled in the art to which this invention pertains. Similar or equivalent procedures and materials to those described herein may be used in the practice of this invention.
