Abstract
Description
Roasting device OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is a roasting device using a rotating drum. It is an innovation that, within current techniques, offers advantages previously unknown. TECHNICAL SECTOR The present invention falls within the sector of everyday needs, in the subclass of food or food products, and their treatment, not covered by other classes, especially in machines or apparatus for treating bulk fruit, vegetable or flower bulb crops, not provided for elsewhere, peeling bulk fruit or vegetables, and apparatus for preparing animal feed, specifically in machines for cleaning, blanching, drying, roasting, toasting or roasting fruits or vegetables, for example, chestnuts, coffee, cocoa and nuts. Similarly, it falls under the section corresponding to rotary machines for toasting and roasting. STATE OF THE ART The present invention arises from the observation that, in the usual processes of roasting and toasting food products, especially chestnuts, carried out in domestic settings or in small-scale production, there are difficulties in achieving uniform heat exposure. This can result in uneven roasting, with some areas over-processed, even burnt, and others under-processed. This circumstance affects both the final quality of the product and the efficiency of the applied thermal process. In everyday use situations, known grilling systems can be affected by the action of wind and air currents, heat dispersion and the accumulation of waste generated during the process, which negatively impacts thermal stability, operational safety and the cleanliness of the environment. Likewise, the lack of continuous and homogeneous movement of the product during toasting can lead to inconsistent results, requiring constant monitoring by the user. Accordingly, this invention provides a roasting device designed to allow a more uniform, stable and controlled heat treatment, promoting a homogeneous distribution of heat and greater efficiency in the roasting process, while improving the safety, cleanliness and overall operation of the unit. Currently, there is no known existence of any roasting device that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those described in this descriptive report, as claimed. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is the creation of a roasting device that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description. The invention relates to a roasting device comprising a drum with a perforated perimeter surface and a longitudinal axis, a lower support for the drum, a burner housed in the base of the lower support, a gas cylinder for supplying the burner, an electric motor located on the lower support, and means for transmitting motion between the electric motor and the longitudinal axis to cause the drum to rotate. The lower support defines a combustion chamber protected from the outside air and configured to contain the dirt generated during roasting. For this purpose, the burner may be positioned at a higher level than the bottom of the lower support. This invention addresses the difficulties related to obtaining a uniform and controlled roasting in food products subjected to direct heat, such as chestnuts or other products of a similar nature, by enabling a more homogeneous distribution of thermal energy and reducing the appearance of insufficiently roasted or excessively treated areas. This improves the final product quality, optimizes thermal performance, and promotes more stable, clean, and safe operating conditions. This innovation is especially beneficial in domestic environments, small productions or outdoor activities, by facilitating a more efficient and consistent process without requiring continuous supervision, improving the uniformity of the result and simplifying the overall operation of the system. It is also envisaged that the drum may have a cylindrical configuration with multiple perforations distributed across its surface to allow the heat generated by the burner to pass through. This promotes more homogeneous heat transfer to the products inside and improves the consistency of the roasting. Furthermore, the drum may include a sliding side door, located on one or both ends of the cylinder, which can be gripped and operated by means of tabs. This facilitates the loading and unloading of products in a practical way while maintaining the structural integrity of the device during operation. Similarly, the drum may include a lateral circular opening that allows heat to escape and the drum to be handled, enabling controlled ventilation of the interior and facilitating maintenance or emptying operations. Therefore, the longitudinal axis may comprise a threaded rod that protrudes laterally from the lower support with a locking nut and handle, allowing the alignment of the rotation to be ensured and facilitating both disassembly for cleaning, storage and maintenance, as well as adjustment operations. The longitudinal axis can be axial to the drum, or eccentric to improve the mixing of the internal products. In turn, the lower support may comprise a rectangular box structure open at the top to house the drum with the ability to rotate inside and whose walls form a fire protection enclosure against the wind, favoring the concentration of heat in the roasting area and allowing efficient operation even outdoors. Similarly, the lower support may include a rectangular window for access to the burner, with a sliding door opened by a handle, allowing direct supervision of combustion and operational adjustment of the system without the need to disassemble the assembly. Regarding the thermal system, the burner can be positioned facing the bottom of the drum to direct the flame towards the drum and can be connected to the gas cylinder via a regulating valve, providing precise control of the thermal intensity and adapting the heat output to the needs of the roasting. In addition, the gas cylinder can be placed under the lower support, or connected via a pipe, creating a compact and self-contained unit that centralizes the energy source and contributes to improving the structural stability of the device. Finally, the electric motor can be mounted externally on one side of the lower support, transmitting motion to the longitudinal shaft. This protects it from heat and allows for maintenance independent of the thermal system. The motion transmission means can include a direct coupling between the electric motor and the longitudinal shaft, which facilitates a simplified design and ensures constant and uniform drum rotation. It can have its own battery, but mains power or power from an external battery located away from heat sources is considered preferable. To use the rotating drum roasting device, the user must place it on a stable surface and connect the corresponding power source, ensuring the necessary supply for its operation. Next, you must place the products you wish to roast inside the system and proceed to activate the rotating mechanism and the thermal system, regulating the heat intensity according to the type of product and the degree of toasting required. During the process, the user must generally monitor the operation of the device, allowing the continuous movement and thermal action to act uniformly on the products. Once the desired toasting level has been reached, the user must deactivate the thermal system and the rotating mechanism, wait for adequate cooling and proceed to remove the roasted products, maintaining basic safety and cleanliness conditions at all times. EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES To complete the description being made and in order to help in the better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by some figures in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented.
