Abstract
Description
ANESTHETIC WEAPON OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a compressed air anesthetic weapon with a manual inflation system, which allows the firing of anesthetic darts without the need for CO2 cartridges. This configuration eliminates the continuous expense of consumables, facilitates its use in open fields without the risk of running out of gas, and simplifies transport, increasing the user's operational autonomy. Its design integrates an inflator-like mechanism, an air storage chamber, a pressure gauge, an actuator, an interchangeable barrel, and a sighting system, all designed to achieve accurate and safe firing without dependence on pressurized gas. Currently, conventional anesthetic rifles require compressed gas cylinders, usually CO2, to operate. These cylinders represent a considerable additional cost for the user, as well as adding weight, bulk, and risk during transport and use. This problem is exacerbated when the user is in hard-to-reach environments or during prolonged procedures, where running out of gas can pose a serious operational problem. In the veterinary and livestock context, field needs can be unpredictable. Situations such as treating aggressive, sick, or difficult-to-capture animals (for example, a cow with a complicated calving or a wild animal with myiasis) require a weapon that is always ready to fire multiple times without relying on an external gas source. Having to interrupt an intervention due to a lack of gas poses a risk to both the operator and the animal. Furthermore, traditional rifles do not allow for easy and immediate reloading. They depend on the supply of specific canisters that are not always available, especially in rural areas or those far from distribution centers. This limitation can lead to dangerous situations or the inability to attend to the animal in a timely manner. There are CO2-powered anesthetic rifles and pistols on the market, but they all share the drawbacks described: dependence on canisters, limited number of shots per charge, ongoing consumable costs, and complicated logistics. None of the existing products offer a manual, independent, and consumable-free reloading system. They also don't offer the option of fitting different barrels for darts of varying capacities, nor do they offer an integrated holographic and laser aiming system. Some air insertion systems using external inflators, such as foot pumps or portable compressors, are also known. However, these methods present significant drawbacks in the field: they are bulky, cumbersome to transport and use, and require a flat, stable surface to operate, which is not always possible on uneven terrain or in emergency situations. This reliance on auxiliary equipment limits the user's operational capacity and can compromise the effectiveness of the intervention when it is most needed. The present invention has its field of application in the veterinary, livestock and wildlife management sectors. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In the prior art, there are known documents related to the proposed invention; however, none of them offer the advantages of this invention nor do they solve the aforementioned drawbacks in the same way. US patent 20180292166 A1 describes a method and apparatus for administering darts, such as tranquilizers or inoculations, to animals. It is designed to project the darts from a remote location, reducing the need for human proximity to the animal and the associated stress, and allowing for dynamic adjustments in dart deployment. However, this system requires complex electronic and firing components, as well as relying on stored energy or auxiliary devices, which limits its autonomy in the field and makes it impractical in rural environments without constant access to power or replacement parts. US patent 9080830 B2 describes a weapon or rifle comprising a barrel and a breech adapter that facilitates the loading and ejection of cartridges for projecting tranquilizer or medicated darts at an animal. It includes extractor and baffle mechanisms to improve performance. Although a technically sophisticated solution, it still relies on the use of cartridges or pressure propellant systems, which entails costs, limits the number of shots fired, and requires spare parts that must be transported and managed in the field. In document US 20170027677 A1, we find a dart delivery system designed to be fired from a traditional shotgun cartridge, where the dart body is propelled by the cartridge toward a target animal to administer medication. This proposal involves the use of adapted conventional firearms and special cartridges, which not only entails a greater risk but also the need for regulated or legally controlled materials, in addition to the constant consumption of cartridges as a non-reusable resource. Although these and other documents present in the state of the art contain inventions related to the proposed invention, none provide an effective solution like the product that is intended to be protected, leaving the previously mentioned problems unresolved. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Thus, the present invention is constituted from the following elements: A manual air inflation pump attached at the opposite end to its inflation handle to an air storage chamber, which is in turn equipped with a pressure gauge and a trigger, said air storage chamber being connected to an interchangeable barrel. Alternatively, the invention also provides aiming accessories such as a laser pointer and a holographic viewer. The manual inflation pump allows air to be compressed without the need for external cylinders. The compressed air storage chamber accumulates the pressure necessary for firing. The pressure gauge allows the accumulated pressure to be measured and thus calibrated for the firing force. The trigger releases the air pressure contained in the chamber using one of two possible systems: a) a mechanism with a glass ball that acts as a check valve, releasing the air when displaced; b) an alternative system with a plastic piece that compresses the air using a rubber seal and releases it when the trigger is pulled. The inflation handle also functions as a shoulder rest, allowing it to be supported without the need for any additional attachments. These characteristics allow the proposed invention to provide a number of advantages, including the following: • Eliminates the need to use CO2 cylinders or other compressed gases. • Avoid the risk of running out of battery in the middle of an intervention. • It reduces operating costs by not requiring consumables. • Increases the autonomy and safety of the operator in the field. • Allows multiple shots without limitations, provided that air is manually recompressed. • Facilitates transport and use in rural or hard-to-reach areas. • Improve shooting accuracy by using aiming accessories. • It allows the use of darts of different sizes thanks to its interchangeable barrels. • It offers a simple, efficient, and economical design to build and maintain.
