Abstract
Description
Protection system for telescopic seatposts OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is a protective system for telescopic seatposts. It is an innovation that offers advantages previously unknown within current techniques. TECHNICAL SECTOR The present invention falls within the sector of everyday needs, in the subclass of sports, games and recreation, especially in material for physical education, gymnastics, swimming, climbing or fencing, ball games and training material, specifically in training apparatus or apparatus intended for particular sports for cycling. STATE OF THE ART The present invention arises from observing that the electronic telescopic seatposts used in mountain bikes are especially exposed to the accumulation of mud, dust and particles projected by the rear wheel during use. Under normal practice conditions, such as in enduro, e-MTB disciplines or on wet or dusty terrain, these contaminants easily adhere to the outer surface of the seatpost, remaining in direct contact with it. This situation causes dirt to act as an abrasive agent during the repeated extension and retraction movements of the mechanism, resulting in scratches on the coating, a progressive loss of smoothness in operation, and, in the medium term, internal damage that negatively affects the durability and reliability of the component. Consequently, this invention proposes a protection system for telescopic seatposts that reduces direct contact of dirt with the surface of the seatpost, helping to preserve its proper functioning and prolong its useful life under real conditions of use. Currently, there is no known existence of any protection system for telescopic seatposts that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those described in this descriptive report, as claimed. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is the creation of a protection system for telescopic seatposts that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description. The invention relates to a protective system for telescopic seatposts comprising a fixing adapter available at the base of the telescopic seatpost, corresponding to the entry point of said seatpost into the bicycle frame, and a protective element configured in the form of a flexible and elongated tongue, with a flat or curved section, arranged longitudinally along the seatpost, said protective element being guided at its lower end by the fixing adapter and fixable at its upper end to the lower structure of the saddle, so that the protective element moves together with the seatpost during its extension and retraction movement, creating continuous protection of the exposed surface of the seatpost against the action of external agents present during the use of the bicycle on demanding terrain. Thus, the fixing adapter defines a guiding zone intended to cooperate with the lower end of the protective element, allowing that end to remain close to the outer surface of the seatpost during its movement. The guide zone helps stabilize the position of the protective element along the seatpost's travel, promoting continuous protection against dirt without interfering with the normal operation of the telescopic mechanism. This invention effectively addresses the problem arising from the accumulation of dirt on the moving parts of telescopic seatposts, preventing external agents such as mud, dust, and projected particles from coming into direct contact with the exposed surfaces during operation. By following the natural movement of the mechanism, the proposed solution is properly positioned regardless of the extension of the stem, thus reducing the abrasive effect generated by these external agents, helping to maintain smoother and more stable operation even under demanding conditions. This innovation is particularly advantageous in mountain biking disciplines practiced on wet, dusty, or uneven terrain, where exposure to contaminants is constant. Its application reduces premature wear, minimizes maintenance needs, and extends the lifespan of the system, improving reliability and performance in real-world use. It is envisaged that the fixing adapter may have an annular configuration, possibly partially open, with said configuration being adapted to surround the seatpost in the area near its entry into the bicycle frame. This arrangement can facilitate the correct placement of the protection system without the need for complex disassembly, contributing to easy integration with different seatpost and frame geometries, making it suitable for use on various bicycle models and configurations. Additionally, it is proposed that the protective element be positioned substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the telescopic seatpost. This orientation would allow the protective element to move smoothly with the extension and retraction of the seatpost, maintaining proper alignment with its outer surface and improving coverage effectiveness during use in varying terrain conditions. Finally, the protective element may be attached at its upper end to the lower structure of the saddle by means of mechanical fastening means, such as screws, bolts and nuts, which can pass through said upper end and fix it to said lower structure. This type of connection allows for a firm and stable attachment to the entire saddle assembly, ensuring that the protective element moves together with the seat post, while offering a simple, durable construction solution compatible with common saddle configurations. To use the invention, the user must install the protection system on the bicycle's telescopic seatpost and ensure its correct attachment to the saddle assembly, so that it is aligned with the exposed surface of the seatpost. During bicycle use, the system automatically accompanies the extension and retraction movements of the seatpost, providing continuous protection against dirt generated while riding without requiring additional actions from the user. EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES To complete the description being made and in order to help in the better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by a figure in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented. Figure 1 illustrates the protection system for telescopic seatposts. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION The protective system for telescopic seatposts depicted comprises a fixing adapter (1) located at the base of the telescopic seatpost, corresponding to the point where the seatpost enters the bicycle frame, and a protective element (2) configured as a flexible, elongated tab arranged longitudinally along the seatpost. The protective element (2) is guided at its lower end by the fixing adapter (1) and attached at its upper end to the lower part of the saddle. In this way, the protective element (2) moves with the seatpost during its extension and retraction, continuously following its movement and keeping the exposed surface covered. To perform its function, the fixing adapter (1) defines a guiding zone for the lower end of the protective element (2), keeping said end close to the outer surface of the seatpost throughout the extension and retraction movement, which ensures a stable and controlled arrangement of the protective element (2) throughout its travel. Both the fixing adapter (1) and the protective element (2) can be attached to the saddle and the seat post using different fixing means, such as a clamp or others. In a preferred embodiment, the fixing adapter (1) has a partially open, annular configuration, adapted to surround the seatpost in the area of entry to the frame, remaining firmly positioned in said area and allowing direct integration with the geometry of the assembly formed by the seatpost and the bicycle frame. Generally, the protective element (2) is arranged substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the telescopic seatpost, extending along it in an aligned manner, which allows the movement in unison with the seatpost to be carried out without interference or deviations from its vertical trajectory. Alternatively, the protective element (2) is attached at its upper end to the lower structure of the saddle by mechanical fastening means, such as screws, bolts and nuts, which pass through said upper end of the protective element (2) and fix it directly to said lower structure of the saddle, establishing a rigid connection that guarantees the transmission of movement between the seat post and the protective element. Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to make its explanation more extensive so that any expert in the field may understand its scope and the advantages that derive from it, it being noted that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other modes of embodiment that differ in detail from the one indicated as an example, and which will also achieve the protection sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
