Abstract

An animal drinking trough comprising a container (1) suitable for holding water, with an open end (1.1) and a closed end (1.2) opposite each other, and a base (2) with an upper face (1.2) on which a relief (3) emerges, delimiting separate inner and outer zones (9, 10) connected by at least one notch (4) in the relief (3), and comprising means for fixing the open end (1.1) of the container (1) in the inner zone (9) such that, for a position of use, they allow closure of said open end (1.1) except for the area corresponding to the notch (4), wherein the outer zone (10) is configured for retaining the water exiting through the notch (4), characterized in that it comprises - a drum (5) suitable for holding water, capable of being placed inside the container (1) such that it forms a separation chamber (6) between them, wherein the drum (5) It has a lower end (5.1), an upper end (5.2) with an opening and a water outlet (7) located on the lateral surface of the lower end (5.1); - a check valve located in the outlet (7) of the drum (5), which has an activation stem (8) arranged protruding from the outer lateral surface of the drum (5); and - means for attaching the drum (5) to the base (2) such that in the position of use they allow the lower end (5.1) of the drum (5) to be fixed in the inner area (9) in contact with the upper face (2.1) of the base (2), the outlet (7) of the drum (5) being arranged in correspondence with the notch (4) of the relief (3), where the length of the stem (8) is such that it is at least partially inserted into the notch (4).
