WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM, INSTALLATION AND PROCEDURE

Abstract

Water treatment system, installation and procedure. The treatment system (1) comprises one or more treatment modules (2), through which water to be treated (5) flows by gravity, and which comprise a frame (3) containing fill (4) of biodegradable organic material of animal or vegetable origin, to receive water to be treated (5) from above and to collect treated water (6) from below. It may include a single module (2), or several stacked modules (2), optionally housed in a casing (11). The installation also comprises: lifting means (12) for the water to be treated (5); a distributor (13) for distributing the water to be treated (5) over the treatment system (1); and a secondary clarifier (14) for separating the treated water (6) into a settled solid portion with suspended solids, called "mineralized humus (16)," and potable water (17). It allows obtaining potable water (17) from raw water or water from secondary treatment.
