Abstract
The invention relates to a casting mold (1a) for producing a light metal alloy casting, in particular a housing for an electric motor of a vehicle. The casting mold (1a) conveniently includes at least one sand core (3a), formed and arranged in the mold (1a) such that at least a portion of said core (3a) can be completely circumferentially surrounded by a molten mass of light metal with which the mold is filled to form the casting. A casting incorporating, for example, a cooling channel can be advantageously produced. It is not necessary to drill a hole to form the channel. The invention also relates to a method for producing a light metal alloy casting, in particular a housing for an electric motor of a vehicle.
