Nozzle for a metallurgical furnace

Abstract

The invention provides a nozzle comprising a hollow conical body with an inner and an outer surface, extending along a first axis from an inlet end to an opposite outlet end. The nozzle body has a point at the outlet end and a conical connection surface at the inlet end. This conical connection surface is configured to engage with a conical seat of a nozzle holder or cooler. Furthermore, the nozzle includes a corrugated section on its outer surface. This corrugated section comprises at least one cavity with an open curved profile and an enclosing surface. The corrugated section is arranged and configured to support the charge material and provide a support for it during the operation of the metallurgical furnace.
