Epoxy resin composition comprising an isosorbide epoxide and use thereof for stabilizing a fibrous or porous material

Abstract

The invention relates to an epoxy prepolymer composition comprising (A) an isosorbide epoxide of formula (I), where n is an integer from 0 to 300, and (B) an epoxide comprising at least three epoxy groups, to a curable composition comprising said composition and a hardener (D) selected from polyamines, and to an epoxy resin formed by crosslinking said crosslinkable mixture. The invention also relates to a method for stabilizing a fibrous or porous material, comprising vacuum impregnation of said material with said curable composition and the use of the isosorbide epoxide (A) in a curable composition to stabilize a fibrous or porous material.
