Abstract

A sealable thermoformed container comprises a base and a continuous sidewall extending substantially perpendicular to the base with a peripheral flange formed along the upper, in-use edge of the continuous sidewall; wherein the base and the continuous sidewall are transparent and consist essentially of polyethylene terephthalate (PET); wherein the peripheral flange comprises a return flange; wherein an adhesive layer is located on an upper, in-use surface of the peripheral flange such that a sealing film can be sealed to the peripheral flange to create a sealed space between the base, the continuous sidewall, and the sealing film, and wherein said adhesive layer does not extend over the vertical, in-use surfaces of the continuous sidewall and does not extend to the base.
