Railway vehicle (1) comprising at least one main power chain (101), a second power chain (102) comprising at least one dual-voltage energy storage system (100) of batteries comprising at least one battery pack (117), characterized in that the main power chain comprises a connection interface (14) connectable to a connector (114) of the at least one dual-voltage energy storage system (100) and in that each dual-voltage energy storage system (100) is switchable between a charging configuration, which connects the main power supply (2) to the battery pack (117), and an operating configuration, which connects the battery pack (117) to the traction motor (17).
