Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle studded tire comprising a tread (18) having a plurality of anti-skid studs (10) disposed in the tread. The studded tire includes an underlay (20) disposed below the tread, which underlay comprises a conformable material layer (21). The anti-skid stud (10) is disposed at least partially on said underlay (20), and the shape of the stud together with the underlay is arranged to provide the anti-skid stud with the anti-skid stud with a puncture force such that the puncture force of the anti-skid stud at an ambient temperature of 0°C is at least 6% greater than the puncture force of the anti-skid stud at an ambient temperature of 20°C, and the puncture force of the anti-skid stud at an ambient temperature of -30°C is at least 20% greater than the puncture force of the anti-skid stud at an ambient temperature of 20°C. The invention further relates to the use of an elastomeric material.
