Method for assembling two bridge steel beam modules

Abstract

A method for assembling bridge girder modules end-to-end longitudinally, each module comprising: a web, bottom and top flanges, and at least one block fixed to at least one of the flanges, and having through openings and an end face for assembly onto which the openings are directed, the method comprising: arranging the end faces for assembly of two adjacent modules against each other so as to longitudinally align the openings; providing prestressing bars comprising a body and two end portions; inserting each prestressing bar into two aligned openings so as to allow the two end portions of the bar to protrude from the openings; placing a nut around each end portion; and tightening with a hydraulic tightening tool rotating a nut so as to tension the prestressing bar.
