Method and device for estimating the health status of a rechargeable electrochemical battery, as well as the equipment and charging stations for implementation

Abstract

For a rechargeable electrochemical battery such as a lead-acid battery, for which there is a charging protocol at the end of which an electrical quantity, either the battery voltage or the charging current, stabilizes at a value (Ueoc) that is a function of its state of health (SOH) and its temperature (T1, T2, T3), the method for estimating its state of health includes at least one of the following steps: determining, at the end of a complete battery charge carried out according to this protocol, the value of said electrical quantity and the battery temperature, in order to estimate the battery's state of health; or estimating the battery's state of health from the value of said electrical quantity and the battery temperature determined at the end of a complete charge carried out according to this protocol.
