Aircraft system

Abstract

Disclosed is an aircraft system 10 including a hydraulic actuator 12, an inlet line 14 for supplying hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator, an outlet line 18 for removing hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic actuator. A first one-way valve 16 allows fluid flow along the inlet line in a direction toward the hydraulic actuator, and a second one-way valve 20 allows fluid flow along the outlet line in a direction away from the hydraulic actuator. Also disclosed is a hydraulic actuator having an inlet port 28 in fluid communication with the inlet line for supplying hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator, an outlet port 30 in fluid communication with the outlet line 18 for removing hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic actuator. The inlet port is located on a first side of the hydraulic actuator and the outlet port is located on a second side of the hydraulic actuator, where the first side may be below the second side when in use on aircraft on a horizontal surface. The aircraft system may be an aircraft brake system and the hydraulic actuator may be a hydraulic brake actuator.
